Frequently Asked Questions
About the Silver
Is your jewelry really 925 sterling silver? Yes. Every piece in our collection is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver by weight. This is the international hallmark standard and every piece is stamped before leaving the artisan's workshop in Taxco, Mexico. If you ever have a question about a specific piece, email us and we will provide the documentation.
What does the hallmark look like? A small stamped mark reading "925" on the interior of bracelets, the back of pendants, or the clasp of necklaces. We photograph the hallmark on every product page.
Will the silver tarnish? Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time when exposed to air, moisture, and skin oils. This is not a defect — it is the nature of real silver. To slow tarnishing: store pieces in the included pouch, avoid contact with perfume and lotion, and clean occasionally with a soft silver polishing cloth. Many of our pieces (particularly the Brazalete Barroco) feature intentional oxidation as part of the design.
How do I clean my silver? Use a soft microfiber or silver polishing cloth. For deeper cleaning, a few drops of dish soap in warm water, gentle scrub with a soft toothbrush, rinse and dry immediately. Never use ultrasonic cleaners on pieces with intentional oxidation — it will remove the finish.
About the Pieces
Where are the pieces made? Every piece is handcrafted in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico — the silver capital of Mexico. We source directly from artisan workshops, not factories or wholesalers.
Are all pieces truly handmade? Yes. Each piece is made by hand using traditional silversmithing techniques — hammering, soldering, granulation, and oxidizing. Because of this, minor variations between pieces are expected and intentional. No two are identical.
Do you offer custom or personalized pieces? Not at this time. We may offer custom work in the future — follow us on Instagram @925origins for updates.
What sizes are available for bracelets and cuffs? Our cuff bracelets are open-ended and adjustable, fitting most wrists (approximately 6" to 7.5"). Specific dimensions are listed on each product page. If you are unsure, email us before purchasing.
